What are you doing New Year's...

New Year's Eve???

Lauri ann and Trevor have set the date.  It will be a wonderful, magical New Year's Eve bash in Texarkana (December 31, 2005) at the Four Points by Sheraton on Stateline Avenue:  903-792-3222.  The hotel's address is 5301 N. Stateline Ave and there are rooms reserved for the Peek-Abell Wedding.  Other hotel options can be found here.

Travel to Texarkana may be a bit difficult...the city is located on the borders of Texas and Arkansas on I-30, midway between Dallas and Little Rock.  There is a regional airport in Texarkana, but is serviced only by puddle jumpersthis can add considerable expense and is not recommended.  However, anyone arriving at this regional airport will be picked up by someone local, and cab or car service should not be required.  IF you MUST fly, a less expensive way to travel would be to fly into either Dallas or Little Rock and rent a vehicle for the ~200 mile drive―and we all know how handy an extra vehicle can be during a wedding weekend.

The wedding will be a formal event set starting at 8:00 in the evening.  Hopefully, this will give people plenty of time for dinner and allow for naps for those that will need them, because the most important part of a New Year's party will be ringing in the New Year at Midnight!!  There will be plenty of hors d'oevres for snacking and children are welcome.  A cash bar will be provided as well as non-alcoholic drinks.

We have permission to remain in the ballroom until 1:00a.m. to allow for the special nature of this celebration.  Invitations have been ordered and should be posted by Halloween.  It is IMPERATIVE that all invitees carry their invitation to the wedding as there will be a security guard posted at the door to discourage wedding crashers.

The colors of the wedding will be Dark Navy, Silver and White.  We ask that all attendants follow wardrobe guidelines for a black tie event, and while we will not ask everybody to rent tuxedos, please no jeans or any less than your snazziest attire.

Bridal Party members are:

Melissa Elliott................Lauri ann's Sister (left) Casey Abell.........................Trevor's Brother (center)
Kari Peek......................Lauri ann's Sister (bottom) Gabriel Luebben...................Trevor's friend from High School (right)
Sara Crouch..................Friend from Texas Tech University Dany Breque........................Trevor's friend from High School (right)
Janna Tichenor..............Friend from Purdue University Major Vince Ryder...............Trevor's commander from Lackland
Tori DeMarco-Logue....Friend from Waldorf, MD Major Sam Ayars.................Trevor's friend in Colorado Springs

Groom Party Members are:           Vince                 Sam

Trevor's younger brother and the youngest Abell is not a member of the wedding party, as he is stationed overseas and is actively serving our country in Afghanistan.  This is an especially difficult thing for Trevor as he and Drew are very close and it would mean anything and everything for Trevor to have BOTH of his brothers at his side on this occasion.  We can hope for the best, but at present we are not expecting Drew to attend, but pray for his safety and wish him home as quickly as possible.

A wedding shower was held on Saturday, October 22, at the Garrison McLain House, hosted by Lauri ann's good friend from Texas High School, Michelle Cherry (maiden name Nall).  Thank you to all that attended, and made my day very special.

The couple are registered at Sears, Foley's, Dillard's, Bed Bath & Beyond and Pier One

Just a note:  If you purchase Accent plates for the China or any piece of Crystal from Dillard's, There will be a shipping fee if purchased online, but buying it in the store and having it shipped to us has no shipping fee.

Lauri ann has a complete set of china, but wants  a set of crystal glasses--12 water goblets, and 12 red wine goblets.  The pattern, by Mikasa, is the Olympus Platinum...and is most likely available cheaper than at Foley's or Dillard's.  In fact, here are a few online links that carry the glasses and a photo of the pattern (water glass not shown, preferred goblet is on far right).
